Food for Life Receives 5% of Proceeds from Select Whole Foods Market Stores on Thursday, October 18, 2018

When the South Florida community shopped at Whole Foods Market stores in Aventura, Coral Gables, Miami, and Miami Beach on October 18th, 2018, 5% of the day’s net sales from these store locations were collected for Food For Life Network, Inc.’s "Meals on Wheels" program.

Since 1987, Food For Life Network’s staff and its volunteers have provided over 2 million meals and groceries to people living with chronic illness and those with emergency food assistance needs. Currently, the food bank serves just over 48,000 meals and groceries each year.

The “Meals on Wheels” program at Food For Life Network, Inc. is available for those who qualify and can no longer travel easily in the Metro Miami Dade area. Groceries and/or Ready-to-eat meals, frozen meals and breakfast items are delivered weekly. Home Delivered Groceries are provided to a limited number of residents.

Our sincere thanks and gratitude to Whole Foods Market and all the wonderful staff at these participating locations for this incredible support. The net proceeds from this event will be announced here shortly.

Whole Foods Market’s Store Level Giving Program is dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations in their stores’ local communities that have limited budgets and big hearts. The program supports organizations that address community issues, such as hunger relief, environmental concerns, organic and sustainable agriculture, animal rights and welfare and social services. Their focus is to support innovative groups that strive to make the world a better place.

To Whole Foods, a better place is one where the environment is preserved and replenished, communities are strong, health is a priority, organic farming is cherished, and where all living beings are respected.
